Constellation Cygnus – Cygnus is the name of a constellation in the northern hemisphere. This constellation reaches its maximum angle from the horizon in late summer and is located in the shape of a swan in the Milky Way galaxy, containing several interesting nebulae and large, scattered clusters of stars. The time of arrival of the meridian is September 10, and its area is 804 square degrees. This cross-constellation is located in the middle of the Milky Way. The NGC 6960 Nebula is the last remnant of a large supernova located south of the Swan Epsilon star. NGC 7000, or the North American Nebula, is located a few degrees east of the Deneb. On dark nights, both can be seen through binoculars or small telescopes.

Stars farther apart seem “fixed” in relation to each other. They really all move in space, but most of them are so far away that we can not see them moving. Star 61 is different. This star moves relatively fast in front of fixed stars because the 61-star star is relatively close to Earth. It is one of the closest stars to the Sun and our Earth. While the pride of the closest star to the Sun goes to the Alpha Centauri system. The 61-star is only 11.4 light-years away. This makes the constellation Venus the fourth closest visible to the naked eye, after Alpha Centaurus, Cyrus, and Epsilon. Astronomers discovered its motion by careful observation.
This star is classified as K2V, meaning that it is a star of the “main sequence” orange (K2) (V). The 61st star is not just a star, but a binary star whose dual nature cannot be seen with the naked eye. A pair of K-type dwarf stars orbit each other over a period of about 659 years. In the late 1700s, astronomers discovered that its apparent motion between stars was much higher than average. Although it took centuries to see with the naked eye, telescopic observations showed a stunning motion that earned the title of flying star 61 astronomers. Astronomers knew that its relatively fast motion indicated that the star was close. This fact led German astronomer Friedrich Bessel to use the 61-star star as the first star to measure its distance using parallax. As a result, it is sometimes called the “Bessel star.” Thus, he was the first to measure the distance of a star other than the Sun. Bessel followed his work by measuring the distances of more than 50,000 stars, and his methods provided the basis for accurately calculating the size of the universe. He attributes this to the earth moving around the sun. By measuring the apparent motion of stars, called parallax change, he invented a method that has since been used to measure the distance of adjacent stars.
How to view the 61 Chicken Star:
It is about halfway between the other two stars that you can probably identify. The brightest star in the tail is the brightest star in the constellation of Capricorn. The other star, Zeta Dajajeh (also known as Genizah), is the eastern wing of the swan. You will find the 61-star star between the two stars. Several other dim stars are nearby, and an accurate star diagram is needed to correctly identify the 61-star star.
